LEARN ALL ABOUT JERRY

Jerry’s earliest musical memory is of his Dad playing the zither and singing to him when he was around 2 or 3 years old; and he still has the zither! Jerry has always enjoyed a well-crafted and atmospheric song and grew up listening to Hendrix and Clapton; he quickly became interested in a wider spectrum of players and styles, from Albert Lee to Jeff Beck, and also some much earlier blues; later amazed and inspired by Larry Carlton, both solo and in Steely Dan.

In a career full of highlights, a couple of random (albeit nerve-wracking) ones include: playing acoustic guitar at a private birthday at Windsor Castle for Her Majesty, The Queen; and turning up to a last-minute recording session, as an inexperienced 20-year old, to find the artist was Tina Turner and the lead guitarist was Albert Lee.

Over several decades, Jerry has worked on stage and in the studio with some of the biggest names in the industry, including (in no particular order): Chris Rea; Procol Harum; The Beach Boys; Barbara Dickson; Tony Hadley; Ray Davies; Peter Green; Sherman Robertson; Andy Fairweather-Low; Sarah Jory; John Parr; Love Affair; Jan Akkerman; Miriam Stockley; Duanne Eddy; The Grants; Ike and Tina Turner; Elaine Paige; and Cliff Richard. He has also featured the following artists in his production, recording or mastering work: Elton John; Frankie Miller; Bonnie Tyler; Joe Walsh; Huey Lewis; Steve Cropper; Delbert McClinton; Rod Stewart; Willie Nelson; Dr. Feelgood; Miriam Stockley; Chris Rea; The Hamsters; Sax Appeal; Dave O’Higgins; Austin Gold; WillE and the Bandits; Barbara Dickson; Lance Ellington; The Jazz Sluts; and Tony Hadley.

Favourite Springsteen tracks: ‘American Skin’ and ‘Jungleland’

A couple of random facts about Jerry: he enjoys building model aeroplanes with his sons and has a ginger cat, called Trevor.
